MANOR DRIVE

This Mt. Davidson Manor house was a down to the studs remodel where the design intent aimed to marry the original house’s traditional heritage with a completely updated modern aesthetic. The wall dividing the narrow galley kitchen and dining room was removed & replaced with an overhead beam to allow for an open kitchen / dining great room . While the kitchen received all new cabinets and modern stainless steel appliances, the dining room was rebuilt with all new trims, mouldings, wall panelling & a coffered ceiling to celebrate the house’s traditional roots. New venetian plaster lined the living room walls and ceilings, and what was once a barrel vault ceiling was opened up to expose an additional 4 feet of head height as well as the original collar ties which were wrapped in rift sawn white oak. A custom cedar pergola / trellis on top of a composite rear deck with 6 person hot tub makes a perfect use out of the yard in SF’s cooler climate.
