CMA Development is a boutique, architecturally driven general contractor based in San Francisco with a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Bay Area. Our focus is on high-end residential remodels and additions of varying sizes. As a unique blend of architecture, real estate development, and construction, we are seeking to expand our team by bringing on an experienced Site Superintendent who will work closely with an actively involved owner throughout the full project lifecycle.

As a small and agile company, flexibility is key. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking on a range of responsibilities and managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently. With plans to grow the client side of the business, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape that expansion alongside a passionate, tight-knit team.

The Site Superintendent role calls for a proactive, humble, and solutions-oriented professional with a deep passion for architectural design and craftsmanship. Key Accountabilities

  • Manage information flow efficiently and proactively

Duties & Responsibilities

Quality of Build

  • Hold all labor accountable and actively problem-solve to meet high standards and contractual scopes of work

  • Maintain rigorous quality control aligned with specifications and elevated levels of finish

  • Demonstrate mastery of all drawings, details, specifications, selections, and code compliance

  • Minimize rework and drive tight punch lists

The Building Experience

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized jobsite with proper material staging and site security

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with labor teams, neighbors, inspectors, consultants, and design professionals

Schedule & Budget

  • Drive efficient and well-sequenced onsite labor

  • Proactively plan to minimize downtime while protecting critical path schedules

  • Produce accurate and timely 3-week lookaheads

  • Manage change orders (C/O), proactively identifying impacts to schedule and budget, and coordinate closely with the PM to communicate with owners and architects

Information Management

  • Lead all site meetings

  • Maintain daily logs and weekly progress reports

  • Manage RFIs and shop drawing reviews

  • Coordinate permits and inspections

  • Conduct routine safety site reviews

Procurement & Resource Management

  • Ensure crews have all necessary materials and equipment at the right times

  • Handle rough material ordering and logistics

  • Organize procurement of large equipment and traffic control as needed

  • Coordinate finish material deliveries and storage with the PM

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Superintendent managing high-end custom residential construction in the SF Bay Area

  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes; prior field experience coming up through the trades preferred

  • Solid understanding of building codes and safety regulations

  • A genuine problem-solving mindset and "can-do" attitude—this is absolutely critical

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Willingness and ability to learn and use new software and technology tools

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation

Salary & Benefits

  • Full-time salary ranging from $125,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience
